today i was drawing a table to put the images on for the web site. it had to be themed as easter. to start with i got some images of the internet that where to do with easter and loaded them in to adobe illustrator and then live traced them so that i was left with a very basic image made of lines i then applied a watercolour line to this and this makes it look like a watercolour. i put some long wavey lines round the outside to make it look like a watercolour. this gives me a table to put the pictures on. i saved the .ai file so that i could go back and a just it or move a picture if i need to.

i then put the clients projuct images on to the table that i had just made and spread them out
this is the finished images that i made for the web site

the group

As a group we had several discussions to organise the group at the start. The whole group had a discussion this was to sort out what tasks to give everyone. The work flow for editing the images was sorted out by matt as he knew what to do. Css light-box was completed by Aarron as he is best at doing this . The tables where drawn by Gary and Alex, as I was one of the people who where editing he product images we had to work. closely with gary and Alex so that the images would fit on the table properly. The client clearly specified what they wanted at the start of the project.

The whole group needed to work together for the project to work properly. One of the first things we did was to all design different logos, these where for the clients to choose from. The tables that the client’s products are to sit on have been drawn in Adobe Illustrator CS4. in Adobe Illustrator CS4 a pen tool can be used to draw a basic shape and then different brushes can be used to make these lines look completely different in the context of the tables the client asked us to draw them in a water colour style so after gary and Alex had drawn the tables all they had to do is to add a water colour brush. The clients asked us to use some specific colours on their web site, so we had to go on the internet and find a hex number for their colours eg. Duck egg blue #C7EDFA. Though out the project the client was up dated about the state of their web site, via email and via the blog sites. Aarron is the best at using the css and so we decided to let him to do that, editing the images is the hardest and longest task to do so most of the rest of the class are doing this task matt being a strong leader was in charge of the rest of us doing this task. we contacted the client in a polite and professional way, to find out that they intended to have included in the web site. The client has been contacted though out the making of the web site.

cutting out the image

cutting out the images is a large task, but when broken down into small tasks it is not to bad. to start with you need to import the image in to paint shop pro,

the next step is to copy the image so if some thing goes wrong you can quickly go back to the origanil image

then you need to add a layer for a colour to go on. this is to make it easier for you to cut out the image

this layer needs to be colured in it lets you see what you have cut out when editing the image

the next step is to add a new layer mask this is ware you will actually be doing the editing

now we move on to the hard bit, zoom in on a section of work and select the brush tool, make shore that the layer mask is selected and that the brush is black, because the wight brush fills in the howl you cut away with the black brush

you can draw with your brush and every thing you paint green you will cut away as a helpful tip, an easy way of drawing a straight line is to draw a single dot at the start of the line and hold down shift and draw a second dot this will join up the dots

all you need to do now is to go round the hole image with the green brush

now when just the top layer is viewed all that is viable is the product in the middle and not the background or the green

work for week 07-11/12/2009

over the last week i have been processing all of the pictures for the web site. the images had to be cut out so they have no background then they needed to be scaled down to a smaller size then compressed so they dont take up too much room on the web server. after this was done we put all of the images into a folder and Matt and Gary put the images into 7 folders. these folders were: corporate birthday christmas halloween christening wedding and easter. i think that this lesson went well because i completed all the tasks in that were needed to be completed in the lesson

Tuesday, 8 December 2009

today i edited a set of images that are going to be used on the card cuts web site. the products need to be cut out so that the product will sit on the table and not have the wight background.

image issues

an issue we had with images is with which format to use when designing the web page. For example we could save them as one format and have the background see though or we could save them as a different format and save the background image of the table

we decided to go with the option of cutting out the images and not saving the background so that it looks like they are on the table.

Tab Design

As a class we discussed different ideas that could be used to create the tabs that will be used on the website. There can be different designs that could be used for tabs. Some of these ideas are:

.The design of the tabs could be the products that the company sells.

.Another design could be with the seasons and the tabs could change with each season.

everyone is going to design their own tab design and the whole group will decide which one to use in the web site.
